by Irina PARfEnova
Irina is fascinated with the continuous transformation of the world, as in the trajectory of a growing tree, the rhythm of an urban space, or the development of a human being.
In drawing and painting Irina embraces the visual representation of change. She starts work with the idea that the visible world is a combination of rules and impulses. She uses imagery to create an atmosphere, rather than tell a story. The images trigger the viewer to capture the sequence of events and respond emotionally and intellectually. Technically, her works are based on dynamic compositions, strong action lines, bold chromatic changes, blurred edges, and objects that project and recede within the pictorial space.
