Over the years the stacks of old notebooks, sketchbooks, and messy piles of drawings have grown, and so has SHR Creative and Hazelmade. The handful of greeting cards has expanded to a full line of paper and home goods. I made my first catalog in the woods of Northern Michigan adding tea towels, calendars, notepads, and little notes. Later settling in Kent, Ohio, I began sketching again, realizing in the process how much the tangibility of pen and paper take me back to Hazelmade’s roots.
One thing that remains central to my idea of Hazelmade is that I want to love the products I create and use them in my daily life. I’ve discovered along the way that being part of your spaces, homes, and adventures is an incredible feeling.
